21 days and counting.... :)

21 days and counting... Here are some things I've learned in the last 2 weeks.

1) God bless handicap bathroom stalls.  They are wide enough for me to turn around in.  Shame on a couple of restaurants with no handicap bathrooms.  In these rare cases, I had to either enter or exit the bathroom backwards because I couldn't turn around in the stupid stall.

2) You will never fully grasp how big you are - you will most likely underestimate how big you are.  Too many times, I've tried to squeeze past something only to belly bump the object, person, etc.

3) It is amazing how much a pregnant body will change to prepare for the oncoming kid.  For instance, did you know, that if your pelvis is TOO small, your body will adjust.  How? The baby settles in your pelvic bone area and stretches the ligaments.  No one tells you that, and no one tells you that it hurts like a mo' fo'. !!!

4) Because of said small pelvis, I have to stop myself from massaging my crotch in public. (sorry lol)

5) You know that you're at the end of your pregnancy when you feel like you have a bowling ball stuck between your legs.

6) Although everyone anticipates the due date, you have to add an additional two weeks in case the kid comes late.  No one tells you that.  So my 21 days countdown is actually 35 days.  It's NOT something you want to hear.

7) Everyone will ask you if you are excited. We have NO CLUE on how to answer that.  Isn't every expecting parent "excited"?  A part of us wants to tell people.. "no, we're dreading the arrival of our kid, it's going to ruin our lives.."

8) You will get hot flashes and the bigger you are, the more uncomfortable you are.  Thank goodness I'm having this baby before the TEXAS HEAT!

9) Sleep is your friend.  I think I'm more tired now than I was in the first trimester - mostly because I wake up so frequently in the middle of the night.  Poor Carlos, he stirs each time I get up, maybe my pregnancy is prepping him for when the kid comes.
You know you have an awesome man when he volunteers to shave your legs for you.  I haven't given in yet.. but it's getting mighty tempting!

10) Baby stuff can monopolize your house!  We have so much baby "stuff" all over our house and the kid isn't even here yet.  Not looking forward to when we start accumulating toys and clothes.

11) Don't drink the water - you will get pregnant!  In my small circle of friends/family, I know more than my fair share of people that are preggos.

Weeks pregnant: 37 weeks
Biggest complaints: HUGENESS and yet, I know I'll get bigger and even more achy!
Stretch marks: A few on my belly!
Belly button: Still have one :)
Total weight gained: 19 lbs
Baby movement: lots of hiccups
Swelling: Puffy feet and my rings don't fit anymore
Maternity clothes: Maxi dresses are my best friend!
Overall comfort: not so good - my discomfort level is about an 8 out of 10.
